Autobiography of Ashlesha Thakur

Title: Becoming Dhriti: My Journey in the Spotlight

Growing up in Mumbai, the vibrant culture of Bollywood surrounded me, and it wasn’t long before I found myself drawn to the world of acting. My journey began as a curious and eager child, participating in school plays and local advertisements. Little did I know these small steps would eventually lead me to the big screen.

I still remember the day I stepped onto the set of “Shakti: “The Power.” They say nothing, but the tone of their voice shows they are nervous but excited. It was my first time doing something related to the movies, and it drew a desire in me to be quenched. That was the true essence of storytelling until I got to portray Dhriti in ‘The Family Man.’ It was nothing less than a pleasure to play Dhriti, and at the same time, it wasn’t accessible at all since she was a complex character confronting real-life issues, and I made sure to portray her as accurately as possible.

As you may already know, it is never easy to juggle school and acting; however, passion kept me dragging on. I learned at least something new about the craft and myself in every project. The moment I came to act in the “Pagglait,” I found myself much more confident and ready to face the nuances of the character that plays supporting but not a mere prop to the movie’s themes.

As I stay in this industry, I have a lot to thank for every opportunity I acquire. It is much more than a job for me; it is a passion to be able to create something, to be able to share my feelings and thoughts with others, and to be able to share something that can be important to people. That is why I am eagerly awaiting what is next for me in this vast world of cinema since this is only the gateway to the path I have consciously chosen to embark upon.
